ABOUT

Anastasia is a grass-roots journalist, writer, ecological thinker and permaculturalist based on the north coast of NSW, Australia.

Homeschooled on Gumbaynggirr country in northern NSW, she wrote her first book at age six. In 2001 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Creative Writing and gained an Associate Degree in Environmental Science in 2020.

Her first collection of writing "Rapture" was published in 2016 and her second, "Gondwana Burning" in November 2020.

In 2023 she co-edited Fire Stories, a multimodal storytelling project documenting the social and environmental impacts of the Black Summer fires on the Northern Rivers region of NSW.

Her latest project is the Canopy Keepers project - a celebration of the tall forests of Australia and the campaigners fighting to protect them.

I acknowledge the Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung peoples,

their elders past, present, and emerging;

custodians of the lands on which I live, work and play.
Thank you for your care over generations of these lands I call home.
